just can't get a win

Strat-O-Matic Report

Thought I had this one as Wakefield goes 8 shutout innings, but after a leadoff double in the 9th Foulke comes in and promply gives up an RBI single to Posada and a Giambi 2-run homre as the Sox fall to 0-3.

In a thriller the New York (AL) Yankees staged a dramatic comeback over the
Boston Red Sox winning by a score of 3 to 2 at Yankee Stadium.

New York (AL) came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
with 3 runs using 3 hits. Hideki Matsui led off and keyed the rally when he
doubled. Jorge Posada followed and he slapped a single which scored a run.
Jason Giambi then lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 1st
of the season) giving New York (AL) the victory and sending the 44,108
home-town fans home happy. New York (AL) had only 6 hits for the afternoon.

Tanyon Sturtze(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Keith Foulke(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. 'That was exciting!,' Posada
said. 'I would have paid money to watch this one.'
