Strat-O-Matic Report

Definitely not a pitchers duel in Texas. After the Sox blow an 8-3 lead in the 6th thanks to some shoddy defense. the Rangers take a 9-8 lead in the 7th. Sox get 3 runs on one hit in the 8th, thanks to a double and 5 straight walks - 3 with the bases loaded, and get 2 more in the 9th on a single, double, and 3 more walks - 2 with the bases loaded. 12 walks total in the game which has to be one of the highest totals that I have ever had in one game.

At Ameriquest Field the Boston Red Sox easily handled the Texas Rangers by the
score of 13 to 9.

Trot Nixon provided the offensive punch. He ripping a solo home run (his 3rd
of the season) in the 3rd inning, laced a one-base hit plating two runs in
the 6th inning and lashed a single plating two runs in the 9th inning.
Boston had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate
innings.

The win went to Matt Mantei(1-2) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Mantei was
helped out by Keith Foulke who recorded his 5th save. Francisco Cordero(0-2)
was tagged with the loss in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an inning and
surrendered 1 hit and 2 walks.
