Strat-O-Matic Report

In the ultimate laugher, the Sox clobber the A's by the score of 16-0. They scored 10 runs in the second inning before even getting an out! I put the scoresheet in with the blog so you could see for yourself how the inning went. Bronson Arroyo also had his second straight scoreless start, and has gone 15 innings in his last 2 starts without allowing a run. Even brought in good ol' Cla Meridith for his big league debut figuring with that big of a lead it was the perfect time. He actually pitched a scoreless inning, too!!

Designated hitter David Ortiz launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Fenway Park
as the Boston Red Sox embarrassed the Oakland Athletics by the lopsided score
of 16 to 0.

Ortiz made sure the Boston fans enjoyed themselves. He cleared the fences for
a two-run home run in the 2nd inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his
13th of the season) in the 7th inning. Boston bats were hot in the 2nd
inning with 10 runs on 8 hits. Boston had 17 hits for the night while
Oakland had 8.

Bronson Arroyo(3-0) went 7 innings allowing no runs for the win. Kirk
Saarloos(3-4) was hit with the loss. With this win, Boston has a 15-18
record. They have been 5-5 lately. With this loss, Oakland has a 7-3 record
of late, 19-14 overall.
