Ben Broussard had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Cleveland Indians clobbered the
outmatched New York (AL) Yankees, 22 to 4.
Broussard enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He doubled plating two runs in
the 1st inning, laced a base-knock in the 3rd inning, laced a one-base hit in
the 5th inning and cracked a two-run shot (his 10th of the season) in the 6th
inning. Cleveland kept the scorekeepers busy in the 8th inning when they had
12 runs on 9 hits. The Cleveland offense man-handled the New York (AL)
pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings.
Kevin Millwood(6-3) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Mike
Mussina(7-6) was tagged with the loss. He was unable to control the
Cleveland offense and allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings.
