June 15, 2005 Mariners 13, Phillies 10

Strat-O-Matic Report

Phillies mount a good comeback in the 9th and outhit the Mariners, but the Mariners hold on for the win in a slugfest. Despite the Phils hitting 5 homers off old friend Aaron Sele, Dan Hansen's first inning grand slam put the Mariners in front early. Got 3 in the top of the 9th to make it 13-10 and had the bases loaded, but Pat Burrell struck out to end the game.

Dave Hansen cleared the bases with his grand slam as the Seattle Mariners beat
the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 13 to 10.

It was a good day for Seattle thanks to Hansen. He emptied the bases with a
Grand Slam homerun (his 1st of the season) in the 1st inning and doubled
which scored a run in the 3rd inning. Philadelphia threatened in the 9th but
their rally came up short.

Aaron Sele(7-3) picked up the victory, allowing 7 runs in 6 innings. Vicente
Padilla(3-4) was the loser. He allowed 7 hits and 3 walks in 2 and 2/3
innings.

Charlie Manual was reflective after the loss, 'We should have won this one, we
just made one too many mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple more
white hairs on this noggin of mine.'
